An Instant Pot Recipe for Every Meal

An instant pot recipe for every meal

Today I’m bringing you a round-up list, with an instant pot recipe for every meal! Or maybe more than one! Most of the recipes I’m including I have actually tried myself. The Instant Pot is a fun tool to use in your kitchen, but alot of people find it intimidating. But listen to me, I have a stove-top pressure cooker as well. I like the instant pot way better! It’s gotten a ton more use in my kitchen than my stove-top pressure cooker ever has. So check out this list of recipes, and give the instant pot a chance.

Instant Pot Breakfast

First, of course, there’s breakfast. If you want a parfait for breakfast, guess what? You can make Greek yogurt in your instant pot! No, you can’t push a button and have yogurt 20 minutes later. It is a long process. It basically takes 2 days to make. But you can have the satisfaction of making your own, saving money, and not having who-knows-what ingredients in it.

And honestly? Don’t give up if you don’t have success with making yogurt right away. It took me three tries with the same recipe before I was successful. Each time it was a little better. For me, the third time was the charm. I think maybe cooling the boiled milk quickly instead of slowly made a difference the third time? Just to clarify, I had never made yogurt in my entire life before the instant pot. But you can do it too! I used the Thick Instant Pot Greek Yogurt recipe from This Old Gal’s blog. Just be aware the recipe is in two parts, so click the link at the bottom for the second half of her recipe.

I have also made banana bread using the instant pot. I suppose that could be considered a breakfast meal? The recipe I used for that was actually found on the Instant Pot Facebook Community group. One of the members shared it there. I recommend joining that group by the way. They help each other with recipes, tips, and advice. I can’t share that exact recipe with you just yet, but This Old Gal has a very similar recipe called Simply Delicious Buttermilk Banana Bread  that you can try. Fyi, banana bread done in the instant pot is very moist. I have only used the 7-inch Fat Daddio push pan {affiliate link}when I made it. But both recipes I mentioned indicated a small bundt pan {affiliate link} was preferred, so that may make some difference.

Instant Pot Lunch

Now moving on to a couple of lunch recipes. How many of you have kids that like macaroni & cheese? I only make homemade. We don’t care for the out of the box kind. Typically, I boil the macaroni pasta in one pot, while making a cheese sauce with butter, flour, milk, and cheese in another saucepan. But guess what? The instant pot can cook macaroni & cheese all in one pot! It has great flavor, but a bit fattening! Here’s a recipe for The Best-Ever Pressure Cooker Mac and Cheese Recipe shared by

If you are looking for a bit more of an appetizer, or a fun meat to pair with the macaroni & cheese, might I suggest two chicken wing recipes that are here on my own blog? That’s right, I have Maryland Old Bay Instant Pot Chicken Wings and Instant Pot Taco Chicken Wings for you to try! You will need a steamer basket to make these wings. My particular one came from Goodwill, but you could try this steamer basket {affiliate link} from Amazon if you like. It looks kind of similar to the stainless steel one I have.

Instant Pot Dinner

For dinner you must try Instant Pot Mississippi Pot Roast from I would never have thought to combine pepperoncini peppers with ranch dip mix, and a gravy mix packet, but it is an awesome combo. We’ve made it at least three times. Last time we thickened the broth so it could be used as gravy. This dish can be paired with rice or mashed potatoes. As I recall, I shortened the pressure cook time to 55 minutes. My roasts may have been smaller though, only 3-4 lbs instead of the 5-6 lbs called for in the recipe.

If you’d rather have dinner all in one dish, there is also a nice soup recipe called Pressure Cooker Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup from It’s got carrots, onions, and celery so you have your veges included. I also used pre-cooked shredded chicken or canned chicken instead of the uncooked chicken breasts called for in the recipe. (Hint, you can cook a whole chicken in the instant pot ahead and use the leftovers in this!)

We also enjoyed Pressure Cooker Mom’s Classic Pot Roast with Savory Onion Gravy shared at I added potatoes to it and decreased the cook time to 55 minutes of manual pressure. It came out wonderfully tender for us. I think you can use beef or chicken broth, whichever you have on hand.

Instant Pot Dessert

Last, but important to many people is the dessert. So far I have only tried one actual dessert in the instant pot. I used a recipe from for Pressure Cooker Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake.  We aren’t huge cheesecake fans at this house…did I make some people gasp in horror?  But it did look really pretty, and the flavor was fine too. I thought it did come out a bit soft, but I am not a cheesecake expert. An oven-baked cheesecake I made before was also a tad on the soft side, so maybe that is how they turn out for me.

If you like cheesecake, give it a try and see what you think. Making cheesecakes has been popular in the Instant Pot crowd. It does make sense, since it’s recommended to bake them in a pan of water in the oven anyway. Saves you the worry of water seeping into the bottom of your pan if you use the instant pot. Oh, and to cook a cheesecake in the instant pot you do need another pan that will fit into your instant pot. I used the Fat Daddio 7″ push pan {affiliate link} for mine.

So there you have it. Nine different instant pot recipes to try. I hope you enjoy these recipes. You can use your instant pot at every meal of the day!
