Pressure-Cooked Cheesy Sausage and Quinoa

Pressure-Cooked Cheesy Sausage and Quinoa

Cheesy sausage and quinoa is an easy protein-packed dinner I recently made in my trusty instant pot. I would say the inspiration for this dish came alot from a soup I’ve made in the past. That Cheeseburger Soup is a delicious recipe I’ve made on my stove top or in a slow cooker. I get that recipe from a cookbook called The Joy of Sharing, which is a collection of recipes from people associated with the Bald Eagle Boys Camp. It was printed and copyrighted in 2007 by Morris Press Cookbooks. *This…

Happy Easter!  “He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Luke 24:6,7 NIV. Our Cream Legbar Chicks Hatched!

Our Cream Legbar Chicks Hatched!

Well, after 3 weeks of waiting and anxiety, our little chicks hatched! Technically, they waited till Day 22 and 23 to hatch. As I referred to in my prior post, Our First Experience Incubating Hatching Eggs, they typically take about 21 days. However, other factors can play into it. But, I was getting worried when nothing was happening last Monday! And I was asking online if I should be seeing something, and people weren’t all real encouraging. My husband told me to just give it more time. Hatch Time! So…

Family Joy Blog Linkup #62

It’s Sunday! And that means it’s also Family Joy Blog linkup time! I’m feeling quite a bit tired this weekend. That’s due at least in part to the hatching of our new baby chicks. Look for a post later this week about that. My two oldest kids were delighted seeing them hatch. I also recently ordered some other “pets” for them. But you will have to hear more about that later! It’s time to party!     Charlene @ Thinking Outside The Pot: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google +, Blog Samantha…

Pressure Cooked Chicken Corn Noodle Soup

Pressure Cooked Chicken Corn Noodle Soup

Recently one of my children was sick, so I thought it was a good opportunity to try making pressure cooked chicken corn noodle soup in my instant pot. Previously, I’ve made chicken corn noodle soup from scratch on the stove top. I think originally I looked up some recipes online to get started, and I’m sure I got the idea to use thyme to flavor it from one or more of those.  But now I can basically throw most of it together from memory. It’s not something I make often, but…

Our First Experience Incubating Hatching Eggs

Our First Experience Incubating Hatching Eggs

So about two and a half weeks ago, I decided to dive into my first experience incubating hatching eggs. I had stumbled onto a Facebook page for selling rare chicken breeds and hatching eggs. Then someone offered a sale/discount on her eggs. I wanted some! Particularly since these were hatching eggs from Cream Legbar chickens. I had recently had an interest in obtaining this breed, but they are expensive. Female chicks can cost $20 a piece. *This post contains affiliate links/ads.  I may receive compensation if you choose to click…
